The patterns for the projects shown
Because so many people have asked if they can have the patterns for the armour construction shown throughout the pages of this site, I have decided to make them available again for the same price as before to cover my time, together with the cost of duplicating and postage etc. These are full size copies of the actual templates used for the complete armour excluding the helmet ( the helmets worn by the finished armour in all three projects are commercially available reproductions ). I hope to be able to post a step-by-step construction of a closed helm on the site in time and make the patterns for this available thereafter.
It is important to emphasise that there will inevitably be some alteration in the dimensions of the pieces after work is carried out shaping the metal. This will be relative to the amount of hammer-work involved. Consequently it must be accepted that some minor depature from the outline shape of the patterns might become necessary and the rivet holes should not be drilled in a piece until all hammer-work and shaping is complete. Similarly the edges of certain pieces, particularly the spalder lames and lames of the sabaton, will require some minor trimming to achieve a smooth line as they are fitted together.
I have reduced the price of the patterns recently and the cost of the full set of patterns for either Project 1 or Project 2 is now £20 GBP - which includes postage and packing within the UK ( airmail postage and handling outside the UK please add £2 GBP ).
